Are you a Responsible Pet Blogger?

There are so many bloggers out there who are just as in love with their pets as I am. I was thinking the other day how blogs have really brought responsible pet ownership into a new perspective and have given a lot of folks an opportunity to show the many facets and faces of responsible pet parenting. I really believe that there is more than one right way to care for our pets and I personally have learned a lot from other bloggers.

What does it mean to be a responsible pet blogger? Well, here is my opinion. It means that when you write a post for your blog, as a guest blogger or write a comment on someone else’s blog, you do so with respect for all creatures. It may mean that you strive to educate others on your pet “ownership”, or that you share your life with your animals on your blog.

It means that you understand that pet parenting means different things to different people and that there is more that one way to care for our animal companions.

I have had so many new blogs for Responsible Pet Bloggers that I’m thrilled! But wow it’s getting to be a long list!

I think it’s time to Launch the Directory.

Create yourself a 468×60 banner, or not (there is a default one), head over to the Responsible Pet Blogger Blog Directory and join!

The directory ranking is based on unique clicks in so encourage your readers to click to find other responsible pet bloggers.

(a Techie note: if you have any trouble, let me know. If you want to use a different button or have a better idea for a button, let me know… and of course, I’m sure there are bugs… this is new software to me and I had to modify the code to prevent blowing my CPU usage)

I started my dog blog to help other dog owners know about the success I had with my cocker spaniel’s life long allergies after changing her diet. I then included rescue and adoption topics after adopting our rescued dog Rosie. Later I added a cat blog to be fair to my 3 cats on cat health. I have since merged the 2 into the Cat/Dog Log at http://blog.ourdoglog.com
