That was unpleasant

I’ve been putting off taking Targ’s crate down. I was trying to convince myself that the girls were using it… and they used to lay in it all the time when Targ was alive. But a month later, I have to admit that neither one of them has shown any interest in laying in it.

Turns out I was keeping it up for me. I guess I could almost believe he was still in it.. hiding in the back.

I just took his crate down and was overwhelmed with how much I miss him…

I’m storing it in the attic. Right now I have a hard time believing that I’ll ever use it for anyone else, but I know that in time that will change…

But for right now.. it’s like he just left us yesterday.

On this day..

OH honey.. I am so sorry. I know first hand how hard it is to loose a dog that is so entwined with your heart. Baby steps….

I am SOOO sorry for your loss. I know Targ’s crate was a good reminder, but with or without it, I know he is there… hiding… in a corner of your heart.
    Sending hugs your way…

I am so sorry for your loss. I know that I will have to go through this some day, too. I hope I can be as courageous.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I just lost my dear cat about two weeks ago and have yet to admit she’s really gone. I haven’t touched any of her things either… convinced that my other cats will use them.
Hang in there and know that you’re in our thoughts.

The day Phantom left me to cross rainbow bridge, my Husband ran out of the car and into the house when we arrived home. I didn’t understand why till I got inside. He had picked up the dog beds from every room and put them in the garage so I didn’t have to look at them. It’s a good thing too, I never would have been able to get rid of them. I still have the little rugby jersey he would wear in the winter sitting in my room and his collar in my nightstand.

Holy Sh*t, Jen — I’m so sorry! I’ve had my head buried under a couple of book proposals, so just catching up. Sending you healing thoughts.

A big hug to you and the girls.
