    I agree with the 80’s carpet comment; however, a stronger contrast between light and dark might make it look like brindle rendered in fabric/carpet.

    Looks sofa to me..sorry :( Can you take him outside and photograph him on the comp with photoshop etc…use a patch with no dog bits in it…then use that for the backgound … will check back and see how it looks. & what you come up with..I love a new blog
