Spring has sprung!

And so have the bugs…

Ew….

I just stumbled upon an article I wrote ages ago on natural alternatives to chemicals for flea, tick and mostquitos. Some really good stuff, so I thought I’d share it.

Ugh! Bugs! Keeping Critters off your Critter

Enjoy!

On this day..

    Good article.

I’ve also used rosemary tea to repel fleas. I have rosemary in my yard, so I just cut some off and throw in a pot with some water. Bring to a boil for a while, then let it cool. Start away from the doorways and spray as you move toward them. Can stain light fabrics/fibers, so use caution there. I’ve also used it as a rinse for dogs after bathing.

I used borax (20-Mule Team, specifically) in the house for a flea infestation. Put the dogs out so they’re not breathing the powder, and spread on the floor. Work it into the carpet, cracks between floorboards and around the baseboards. Vacuum up a day or two later. It helps dry out and thus kill the fleas and their eggs. Sort of the cheap version of FleaBusters.
