October’s Issue of The Critter Connection
Posted in Ramblings on Sep 9th, 2005
This is out a little early, but I’m really excited to say that Twinks came home the very next day!
Susan is a real person and Twinks is a real kitty.. This will be published in the Healing Springs Journal in October.
The Critter Connection October 2005
Dear Jennifer,
Can you communicate with our cat who will not return to us but is staying nearby? We see him and make sure that he is fed, but he will not return to the house. We would like to know what he wants in order to be happy. I guess I just need to know what is going on in his heart. His name is Twinks.
Thank you,
Susan
Dear Susan,
When I first connected with Twinks, I felt an overwhelming sense of nervousness. He is not feeling very comfortable living outside and is telling me that he is sad that he is not “home”. He’s shaking his head as if to say, “I don’t know what to do”.
Twinks is also sending me an image of a window. With that comes the feeling that he sometimes feels like he is on the outside looking in, that he is unsure of where he fits into the dynamic of your home. I feel that this may be the reason why he has moved outside and has not yet come back in.
He keeps showing me his paw. He is telling me that he wants to pat you on the shoulder and say, “Momma, it’s ok”. He says he understands that you “need him outside”.
The feeling I get from Twinks is that he really does want to be inside with you. I’ve shared with him that you would love for him to come home and that you miss him. He seems honestly surprised.
Please take a few moments to assess your home situation and take a look at why Twinks may feel that he is an outsider. It may be something that is very minor to you but to Twinks, it feels huge. Sitting quietly and sending your love and concern to Twinks will help him understand that you miss him and that you want to help him be happy.
I do feel a turning point coming for you soon. Twinks is ready to come home.
Blessings,
Jennifer
